Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on the 26th of March, 1991. She is an American artist and songwriter, as well as the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. Dreamville Records released her debut album titled Pho in the month of October 2016, and she was able to get recognition. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio album came out on May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox released her music to the internet in 2012 after she released her Five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. In 2014, she dropped more music via the Internet including Bound. The song was included in Omen's Elephant Eyes and on Sweat It Out on the 21st of July, 2015. The following year, her music was circulating all over the Dreamville team, as J. Cole wanted her to collaborate with him on some potential references to Rihanna. Then, in December of 2008 the news was made public that Rihanna was signed to Dreamville Records. She was featured on the joint album Revenge of the Dreamers II on the track Backseat with Cozz. The 21st of October, 2016, she released her debut EP titled Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track, and performed on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018, she appeared as a guest on two songs with EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas's Icarus. The debut album of Ari Lennox Shea Butter Baby was released on 16 July 2018. The first single, Whipped Cream, from the album came out in September 5th, 2018, accompanied by a an accompanying music video. The 9th of November saw her release two more singles called 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. On the 13th of November two singles titled No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released as her first single on February 26, 2019 for the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby appeared alongside Cole in the Creed II sound track on November 16. This track, which was made available with a video uploaded to YouTube February 20, 2019 has been viewed over three million times over the first 7 days. She was the supporting act for 6LACK on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December of 2018.
